FAQ

How are forecasts resolved?

Each forecast question posting will note the resolution criteria; typically tied to an official government or corporate announcement.

When are Bitcoin rewards distributed?

Bitcoin rewards are paid out to accurate forecasters once a question resolves.

What is the expected amount of the Bitcoin reward?

The reward is variable and grows over time. The entire pool amount is paid out once any question is resolved and is subsequently re-seeded from proceeds from Guessors NFT sales.

How are forecasts anchored to Bitcoin?

All forecasts are recorded on the Stacks blockchain. Stacks is a Bitcoin sidechain whereby all Stacks transactions settle onto Bitcoin.

Can I change my forecast after submission?

No. Once your forecast is made it is final. If you wish to submit a new forecast to the same question, you can do so by using a new Stacks address.

Can I dox myself and publicize my forecast record?

Yes. You can sign a transaction to prove you are the owner of the Stacks wallet and Guessors NFT at any time.

Can I remain anonymous while participating?

Yes. Submitting your responses to a public blockchain while using a non-custodial wallet provides a high degree of anonymity.

Why do I need a Guessors NFT to participate?

The NFT enables access to forecasting and serves as a deterrent against spamming predictions to win the Bitcoin reward.

Why does the price of the Guessors NFT change?

The NFT price may increase over time to reduce the incentive to purchase many NFTs and prevent other participants from winning the Bitcoin reward.

What is sBTC?

sBTC is a programmable Stacks token that is 1:1 pegged to the value of BTC and secured by Bitcoin. The Bitcoin reward is distributed in sBTC.
